When DAP fits

Door-to-door deliveries where the buyer handles import clearance and duties himself.

What to watch

  • The goods arrive on the vehicle, not unloaded; unloading is on the buyer.
  • If the buyer is late with import clearance, demurrage and storage at destination fall on the buyer.
  • Name the place precisely: a warehouse address, not just a city.
  • Shipping under DAP? Compare freight rates and check sailings.
