Vector tile
One Mapbox Vector Tile (protobuf). Zoom 0 to 13 is stored; clients over-zoom past 13, so streets stay sharp at any zoom. Cached at the edge for a day.
Path parameters
Zoom, 0 to 13.
Tile column.
Tile row (XYZ scheme).
Response schema
3 fields
Derived from the example response, nested as the JSON is.
Errors
A failure on an open endpoint answers { "ok": false } with a human-readable message. Branch on the status code.
The tile is empty (open ocean).
z, x or y is outside the tile pyramid.
Binary response
The tile itself is binary protobuf. The JSON above only describes it: content type, format and the source layers a tile can hold. Decode tiles with a map client or a vector-tile library such as @mapbox/vector-tile.
