About COSCO
COSCO Shipping, China’s state-owned carrier, formed in 2016 by merging COSCO and China Shipping; OOCL is part of the group. Also one of the world’s biggest terminal operators; it part-owns the Greek port of Piraeus.
China COSCO Shipping (COSCO) was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. Its main trade areas: Global, Asia–Europe, Transpacific and Belt and Road lanes.
COSCO Shipping is a member of the Ocean Alliance, alongside CMA CGM, Evergreen, and OOCL.
How to track a COSCO container
Every COSCO box carries an ISO 6346 number: four letters (the owner prefix), six digits and a check digit. COSCO prefixes include COAU, COSU, BSDU, CBFU, CBHU, CCLU, CSLU and CSNU. Enter the container number, the bill of lading or the booking reference and Navo24 detects which one it is.
The tracker joins COSCO's own events (gate out, loaded, departed, transhipped, discharged) with the vessel's AIS position, so you see where the box is now, not where it was at the last port call.
COSCO schedules, rates and free time
Before booking, compare COSCO sailings by transit time and by real on-time reliability: SchedulesMCP measures actual against scheduled arrivals for every lane COSCO serves.
For the price, FreightRatesMCP shows market rates for 20GP, 40GP and 40HC on a port pair. After arrival, demurrage and detention start once COSCO's free time runs out, and Navo24 counts the days left on every box.
