About CMA CGM
A French line founded in Marseille in 1978 by Jacques Saadé and still controlled by the Saadé family; parent of CEVA Logistics. Beyond ships it owns CEVA Logistics, a fast-growing air-cargo arm, and even French media outlets.
CMA CGM was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Marseille, France. Its main trade areas: Global, Asia–Europe, Transpacific and Mediterranean.
CMA CGM is a member of the Ocean Alliance, alongside COSCO, Evergreen, and OOCL.
How to track a CMA CGM container
Every CMA CGM box carries an ISO 6346 number: four letters (the owner prefix), six digits and a check digit. CMA CGM prefixes include CMAU, CMDU, CMNU, AMCU, ANLU, CGHU, CGMU and CGTU. Enter the container number, the bill of lading or the booking reference and Navo24 detects which one it is.
The tracker joins CMA CGM's own events (gate out, loaded, departed, transhipped, discharged) with the vessel's AIS position, so you see where the box is now, not where it was at the last port call.
CMA CGM schedules, rates and free time
Before booking, compare CMA CGM sailings by transit time and by real on-time reliability: SchedulesMCP measures actual against scheduled arrivals for every lane CMA CGM serves.
For the price, FreightRatesMCP shows market rates for 20GP, 40GP and 40HC on a port pair. After arrival, demurrage and detention start once CMA CGM's free time runs out; the free-time page lists CMA CGM's published allowances by port, and Navo24 counts the days left on every box.
