About GS Lines
Portuguese carrier, part of Grupo Sousa, running container services from mainland Portugal to the Azores, Madeira and on to West Africa. It’s the biggest Portuguese-flag container operator, and it lifelines the Azores and Madeira archipelagos.
Main trade areas: North Europe, West Africa and Atlantic.
How to track a GS Lines container
Every GS Lines box carries an ISO 6346 number: four letters (the owner prefix), six digits and a check digit. GS Lines prefixes include ENMU and PRTU. Enter the container number, the bill of lading or the booking reference and Navo24 detects which one it is.
The tracker joins GS Lines's own events (gate out, loaded, departed, transhipped, discharged) with the vessel's AIS position, so you see where the box is now, not where it was at the last port call.
GS Lines schedules, rates and free time
Before booking, compare sailings on your lane by transit time and real on-time reliability across all carriers, GS Lines included where it publishes schedules.
For the price, FreightRatesMCP shows market rates for 20GP, 40GP and 40HC on a port pair. After arrival, demurrage and detention start once GS Lines's free time runs out, and Navo24 counts the days left on every box.
