About Grimaldi
The Grimaldi Group, a family-owned Naples line running ro-ro, car-carrier, and container services. Mixes containers with rolling cargo, and also runs Mediterranean passenger ferries.
Grimaldi Group (Grimaldi) was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Naples, Italy. Its main trade areas: Mediterranean, West Africa, Atlantic and Baltic.
How to track a Grimaldi container
Every Grimaldi box carries an ISO 6346 number: four letters (the owner prefix), six digits and a check digit. Grimaldi prefixes include GCNU. Enter the container number, the bill of lading or the booking reference and Navo24 detects which one it is.
The tracker joins Grimaldi's own events (gate out, loaded, departed, transhipped, discharged) with the vessel's AIS position, so you see where the box is now, not where it was at the last port call.
Grimaldi schedules, rates and free time
Before booking, compare sailings on your lane by transit time and real on-time reliability across all carriers, Grimaldi included where it publishes schedules.
For the price, FreightRatesMCP shows market rates for 20GP, 40GP and 40HC on a port pair. After arrival, demurrage and detention start once Grimaldi's free time runs out, and Navo24 counts the days left on every box.
