About G2 Ocean
G2 Ocean, a Bergen-based bulk and breakbulk joint venture launched 2017 by Norway’s Gearbulk (65%) and Grieg Star (35%). Runs the world’s largest fleet of open-hatch gantry-crane ships; box-shaped holds built for wood pulp and steel.
Main trade areas: Global.
How to track a G2 Ocean container
Every G2 Ocean box carries an ISO 6346 number: four letters (the owner prefix), six digits and a check digit. Enter the container number, the bill of lading or the booking reference and Navo24 detects which one it is.
The tracker joins G2 Ocean's own events (gate out, loaded, departed, transhipped, discharged) with the vessel's AIS position, so you see where the box is now, not where it was at the last port call.
G2 Ocean schedules, rates and free time
Before booking, compare sailings on your lane by transit time and real on-time reliability across all carriers, G2 Ocean included where it publishes schedules.
For the price, FreightRatesMCP shows market rates for 20GP, 40GP and 40HC on a port pair. After arrival, demurrage and detention start once G2 Ocean's free time runs out, and Navo24 counts the days left on every box.
